More than 30 years ago the Eleta family acquired the original farm, located in the vicinity of Piedra de Candela, one kilometer from the border with Costa Rica. It had an area of 130 hectares and was known as “The Sheep” because of the large numbers of sheep that were raised there.

In 1995 we planted the first coffee trees and in 1998 we exported the first shipment of Café de Eleta.

We have acquired neighboring coffee farms throughout the years. Today Café de Eleta is produced within an area of 300 hectares, where we have capitalized on the rich experience and the know-how of a region that has been growing coffee for more than 50 years.

Our Experience

The Eleta Group has vast experience in company ownership, such as media, insurance, animal feed, racehorse breeding, environmental protection and other fields.

Our commitment to the community, to the people who care for the coffee farms, their families and the environment, is part of the philosophy that lies behind each and every one of the group’s activities. Our business experience and vision complement our coffee exporting operations and strengthen the trusting relationship and long-lasting link we maintain with all of our customers.

Café de Eleta exports a top-quality coffee bean to premium coffee roasters in Europe, the United States and Japan.

We are the only Panamanian coffee growers who are members of the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe, SCAA (Special Coffee Association of America) and SCAP (Special Coffee Association of Panama).

We have participated in competitions such as:
